Our doctor came in & gave me the results to my labs I had taken last week. She said everything was good, but had to talk to me about my blood type. She said I am A- which is bad I guess. She said if Marc is negative too we are fine, but if he is positive the the next time we get pregnant my body will try to kill off the baby. So they are having Marc go in with me and get labs next week. If his blood type turns up positive I will have to get a shot or some procedure done in the 28th week of pregnancy. Then again right after the baby is born. So we are crossing our fingers he is negative like me!.
After telling us the results of the labs she did our 2nd Ultrasound. It was incredible, just like before!!! I am admitting though, it's rough being the mom. You have to lay there on the table and stare at the ceiling while the Doctor measures & shows everything about the baby to the dad. It's hard to sit there patiently waiting for your turn. I can see that Marc LOVES it though, so it makes it so worth it. I was watching him and he had this big old grin on his face while she explained everything. I had to fight back the tears... That is saying a lot for me because I don't usually cry in public!! No one saw or knew of course. :) Anyways, when I finally got to see I could see the babies hands waving around and feet kicking. The heart was beating SO fast & you could even see the umbilical cord pulsating. It was CRAZY cool. We also got two pictures this time. When she printed the first one I hadn't seen the screen yet, I had just heard her explaining to Marc. So she handed the picture to me and I didn't know which end was the bum or head. It didn't look like a baby to me!!. Which confused me because she said it would look so much more like a baby this time compared to last time. I couldn't see it until she showed me the beautiful baby moving around all over the screen & the picture suddenly made since.
She also moved us back up again on how far along we were. Last appointment she bumped us back 4 days, then yesterday she bumped us forward two. So we are 11 weeks 2 days as of today (9/23/2010). Making our due date April 12th now instead of April 14th I guess. Do the measurements always change making you further or less along by a few days at each appointment?
So our appointment was exciting as always. We have our next appointment October 20th. So in the next month we will hit the 2nd tri, I will have two labs taken, Marc will have one lab & then we will have another appointment (hopefully finding out the sex of the baby!.) Lots going on in the Grow family!!
Also, I have been craving a beef bologna sandwich for days, but had read on a few different websites that you should not eat deli meat. It never narrowed it down exactly so I called my wonderful Aunt Teresa (aka, the best nurse ever) and she told me bologna is fine to eat. Bless her heart!! Not to mention that we are headed to Utah tonight. I am seeing Cafe Rio & Tempanyaki in our near future!! Ohhhhh the things a sick pregnant person looks forward too! :)
