We went to Lake Powell over the 4th of July. It was such an experience! I guess it always is with our family :)

Our 1st day there we had to un-winterize the boat. We thought there was gas leaking everywhere & over dramatically thought it was going to blow up & we were all going to die. After talking to a few boat experts, we realized it was normal.

We finally got to our campsite and they boys set up this huge 10 man tent. It took them 2 hours before we could finally get out on the lake. Of course, someone left the boat sterio on so when we finally got all ready to head out on the lake & pushed off our beach the batterie was dead!. Good thing I have a strong husband who swam/pulled our boat over to the nearest houseboat to jump it. Well, pretty soon after we got there we felt stupid b/c Luke had turned off the batterie!! It wasnt dead!!! :/

okay, so hours into the trip we are finally out onto the water! We decided to head out to Rainbow Bridge... get cooled off & see the sites (since a couple of them were having there 1st experiance at Lake Powell.) We had JUST enough time to get there and back before dark, but knowing us... we shouldnt have risked it. We got lost 2 or 3 times on the way there & were racing back to get home before dark, but we got stuck in a HUGE windstorm. The waves were crashing in the boat on both sides, pitch black, & a crazy driver (haha, love ya dad)

Since it was pitch black, why would we not almost run into an island..... as soon as we saw it, we through the boat into reverse got back about 15 ft & RAN OUT OF GAS!. So Danny & Marc are doing everything they can to dump the last gallon of gas into a rocking boat with winds like crazy. We got just enough to get us back to our campsite. All of us were completly exosted & starving, but we shouldnt have thought that it was time to rest & eat because of course our tent is gone!! Lets just say it was a memoriable trip... wouldnt have changed it for the world. We will laugh about it for years!!!.

Saturday was a perfect day... minus the low oil problem... Hope you enjoyed some of the pictures!.
